All ten of us went for a day trip at Leicester on Saturday (16 Feb). It's our first trip out of Leicester, so I was pretty excited. Took a 20mins National Express coach ride to Leicester, the bigger town from Loughborough ;)

The bus stop is facing the pavement instead of the road.

Famous clock tower in Leicester town
Statue depicting the 3 popular sports in Leicester ; soccer, cricket and rugby
a bagpipe player basking. Look at how his cheeks puff out! Really weird...
Egg sandwich lunch at Brucianni
The shopping malls of Leicester town. H&M, Primark, Marks & Spencer, GAP, Topshop... ;)
This is a building at the Town Centre, which is further up from the shopping malls. It's also where the Tourist Info Centre is. It's quite a nice centre, like a mini plaza of Leicester. So we spent quite some time taking pics here.

Overview of the Town Centre before we move on to Jewry Wall museum. On the way, we passed by the Leicester St Martins Cathedral. It's one of the monuments which you can spot wherever you are cuz its quite tall. This church may have existed for 900 over years!

Arrived at Jewry Wall museum. It is on a location where Roman bath ruins are found which are 2000 years old.

Remains of the Roman bath, which we can't make out / imagine how it was like back then. haha.. It's a nice place to camwhore. hehe..

Um... dun ask what we're doing. haha
Peacock tiling floor in the museum
Yisi conquered the highest rock in the ruins! Way to go~! lol

Well, I didnt really like the Jewry Wall Museum. Although they try to show hoe Leicester city evolved through centuries, it's just not attractive. Looking forward to see more of these in Rome instead.

Then we moved on to Castle Park, where statue of Richard (who was king back in 1845, if i didnt rmbr wrongly) was placed. Ironically, there's alot of bird poo on his head. Hazel

Even kitty needs some warmth in this chilly winter. Chubby chubby~~..
Swans along River Soar, which is beside Castle Park. For once it's a river that looks like S'pore river - canal form. haha

Pretty flowers lining outside a building of DeMonfort University. Can you see the letters D-M-U?

Then we visited Newerke Museum which showcases the war time scenarios, how Brits survived through both WWI & II. It's a very interesting museum cuz they really put in effort to make replicas of old shops and cobbled streets. They also exhibit many of the letters soldiers wrote home, war medals. It's a very nice museum ;) war time posters and newspaper cuttings
Really antique cash machine

This is IN the museum. Cool right? ;)

We left the museum and headed back to town to meet the rest of the guys who went to catch Leicester City soccer match.Nightfall on Leicester City...

While waiting for the other guys to come back from the stadium, the weather turned really really chilly. We hide at the entrance of Brucciani cafe (where we had lunch) to shelter from the wind. Later when we got chsed away by the owner (the shop is already closed). So we went...
Hiding from the wind in the phone booth. 3 siao char-bo...haha...

Thereafter, we had mac for dinner, chilled at a pub called The Parody before heading back to Loughborough.
